pop pop.

Lately one of my favorite accessories is bright lipstick. You can be wearing the most basic outfit, but add a swipe of color to the lips and it takes it to the next level. There are so many shades to choose from I was overwhelmed at first, but I've taken cues from some of my favorite bloggers with similar complexions. Right now I'm loving Revlon's Fire and Ice, Maybelline's Coral Crush, and, the one I get the most compliments on, Wet & Wild's 511B. Yep, it cost about 99 cents.

Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere is a big lipstick inspiration.

Also, Kim of Eat Sleep Wear. And I want to steal her haircut, too.

Atlantic Pacific isn't afraid to match her lipstick to her outfit.

What's your favorite shade of lipstick?

  1. I love a pop of lipstick too! My two favorites are NARS Funny Face and Revlon Moon Drops Orange Flip (also one of Emily's favorites). I haven't found a favorite red yet - too many choices. Let me know if you have one of those!

  2. I am also inspired by these lovely ladies, currently I'm loving the classic red lip.

  3. This blog has a great comments section that features suggestions on organic or lead-free lipsticks:

There was a recent FDA study conducted that found lead in nearly every commercial lipstick product tested (see above for more). Just something to consider if you're curious about what's in your products.

  4. I love bright lipstick! And Emily and Blair are most definitely inspiration for me, especially w/ their lipstick.

I just bought Maybelline's "Fuchsia Fever" and have received many compliments. As long as the rest of my makeup is pretty neutral, this fuchsia is fairly easy to pull off!

  5. I like red lips, but with my olive skin, I haven't been able to find a shade that works. I'm glad you're blogging again! :)

  6. My Forever Favorite (at least the last few years!) Glazed Berry by Clinique. I always buy a couple of tubes when Clinique has a free gift with purchase. The formula stays on well, and leaves a blush of color on my lips for a while even after the shine fades a bit. LOVE IT!! June
