On Sunday we took Muni and his cousin Sammy to Sullivan's Island to play in the water. Although technically dogs aren't allowed off-leash on local beaches (unless you're a crazy early bird), the beaches are fairly empty in the winter so you won't be hassled.

Sammy enjoyed chasing his ball into the tidepool, while Muni preferred to wait in the shallows or run along the surf. Seriously, there's nothing more joyful than a dog allowed to run free on the beach.

I met this little guy in my backyard yesterday. Isn't he the cutest? He patiently waited on the water hose while I filled up the watering pail, kept his cool when my cats sniffed him, and smiled when I poked my camera in his face. What a nice little dude.

This was after a lizard landed on my windshield and hitched a ride back to my house. But before I found a tiny snail riding on the cat's tail.

I love our big ol' 90-pound oaf of a dog, Mundaka. We think he's some combination of black lab, pit bull, great dane, and horse. But if I'm ever crazy enough to add to our zoo, I want a Boston terrier real bad. When I get the urge, I read this.
